In beautiful timing Hadas and my new musical project is out, we named it ‘The Couple’, and it sounds like what you could expect of having both of us in the studio making music together (for the 1st time!). Though there’s so much uncertainty in the world, the pain and fear are real and respected, this also such an important time to create the new, explore deeper into what is being asked from us in contribution to the emergence of a new era. Music is our cure. Our 1st release is a remix to the beautiful Dunya Halim, a song by our beloved sister from Istanbul, the incredible Idil Mese. The track is out on Turkish largest and oldest indy label ‘Ada music’ and is available on all platforms. Enjoy. Written almost 900 years ago in Egypt, Mount Horev is the oldest hebrew liturgical poem (also known as ‘Piyut’) ever found. Originally composed by Rabbi Ovadia Hager, who migrated from Italy to Egypt, the song combines Middle Eastern and ancient European influences. Mount Horev, tells the biblical story of Mount Sinai and Moses’s journey, yet it also hides an ancient prophecy - liturgical songs were used to convey deep spiritual meanings as a way to transfer knowledge at a time in history when spiritual teachings passed by a word of mouth, from one generation to the next. Its prophecy talks about the need of spiritual awakening, and the required unity of the tribes. Jerusalem born producers Gio Israel and OHAD discovered an old recording of Mount Horev in the sound archive of the Jeiwsh National Library. The production process didn’t take long. “The moment we played a beat on top of it the magic all happened by itself, it’s as if this ancient song was waiting to be rediscovered”. Ever Since its production ‘Mount Horev’ was played many times around the world, from Black Rock city to the Mexican Playas, and now, for this celebration of the holy days of light, it is presented as a gift to the world. A beautiful Sunset out in the Mojave desert as we all went on-line to celebrate the first of it's kind Remote Burn. This special set was recorded live from our tiny house's deck out of the middle of Joshua Tree.   Stars aligned as I was technically trying to figure out the broadcast, and the music that came through was spiced with many live and eastern essence to it which felt right by the space I was in and the overall vibe of enjoying a magnificent sunset in the desert, broadcasted to friends and fellow burners world wide. As the sun set and the first 3 stars appeared in the sky, the dust finally settled after a rough two days. We gathered from across the Playa - the open hearts, the playa misfits, the loving trouble makers, and one by one boarded the flight, one that would take us beyond any pre-planned travel route. As often happens at Burning Man, you can plan an evening, build a lineup, make sure all technical equipment is in place and the playa will still provide you with an adventure of her own. It’s the beautiful tension between holding an intention and knowing when to let go and trust that whatever needs to happen will. This set was originally planned to be 1.5 hours and ended up running for over 4 hours. As magic manifested on the plane’s deck, the music continuously played and the Playa kept dancing.
